This report on SIR 2026 adjudication in West Bengal, and on the appeals filed at the SIR Tribunal against exclusion and against inclusion, is published by Civic Research Group.

Privacy and publication

  • The report’s figures are aggregates: totals by booth, local body, assembly, district and state.
  • The voter search shows, for one elector at a time, details the ECI itself published in its supplementary lists (name, EPIC number, booth) together with the appeal status returned by the public appeal portal. Voter pages are kept out of search engines.
  • The underlying data (public repository) is published for research, public scrutiny and journalism. Small counts can identify people; take care when quoting figures for a single booth or naming a voter.
  • Demographic figures must not be used to profile or target any individual or community.

Accuracy, corrections and fair use

  • The data may be incomplete, out of date or misread: the source lists are image-based PDFs, and the appeal portal answers one EPIC at a time. Individual EPICs were checked between 5 September and 20 October 2026; since the ECI made a one-time password (OTP) mandatory, the portal no longer shows us the outcome of a disposed appeal. Check material facts against official sources.
  • Where an outcome or channel is not known, the report says so (“Disposed by Tribunal (outcome unknown)”, “Applied, channel unknown”) instead of guessing. Why some fields are unknown.
  • Errors are corrected at the source, the site is regenerated and the revision is dated. Report an error to civicresearchgroup@gmail.com.

The work was done by Civic Research Group with unpaid volunteers. The project received no external funding from any source, institution or organisation.
